STATEMENT OF APPROACH

Scripture First. Holiness Central. Charity Always.

This platform operates under four guiding commitments.

1. Scripture First

The Bible is our final authority. All theological reflection, historical analysis, and doctrinal synthesis must submit to the Word of God.

We read the Old Testament in light of Christ.

We interpret doctrine through the whole counsel of Scripture.

We avoid speculative systems detached from the text.

2. Holiness as the Aim

Theology is not an intellectual sport. It serves transformation.

If doctrine does not lead to:

  • Repentance,
  • Faith,
  • Obedience,
  • Love,
  • And purity of heart,

then it has not reached its intended end.

Both Quaker and Wesleyan traditions insist that salvation includes inward renewal. We affirm this without apology and without exaggeration.

3. Charity in Disagreement

We will engage historical debates and doctrinal tensions. But we will not:

  • Mock
  • Misrepresent
  • Or dismiss those who differ

Where we disagree, we aim to state opposing views fairly and accurately.

Christian maturity includes theological conviction with Christian humility.

4. Historical Theology Matters

The church did not begin yesterday.

We read:

  • The Early Church Fathers
  • The Reformers
  • The Quakers
  • The Wesleyan revival

not as infallible authorities, but as witnesses in the great cloud of testimony.

Historical theology protects us from novelty and provincialism.

This is not a polemical platform. It is a constructive one.
